West Oaks Mall opened in 1984, serving the shopping needs of the surrounding neighborhoods of West Houston. Since then, the mall has expanded and was renovated to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the Texas Ranch Style. It added a fireplace to the food court, replaced tile accents with marble and updated seating to a more plush, comfortable style.

Anchor stores include Dillard's, Macy's and Sears.

The West Oaks Mall contains more than 120 retail stores, a six-screen movie theater and a food court.
