As one of the largest malls in Houston, Baybrook Mall opened in 1978 and has grown and expanded since then.

First Colony Mall made its mark on the Houston shopping scene in 1996. Just 10 years later, it introduced Houston to the concept of an open-air lifestyle center, with with the addition of a 40,000-square-foot restaurant plaza.

Northline Commons has transformed itself from a cluster of strip malls into a destination retail center, with new landscaping, brick-paved walkways and a brightly lit parking lot. All of these new features and more have created a lifestyle outdoor retail center where shoppers can stop by to run a quick errand or to enjoy the outdoor weather while window shopping among the mall's dozens of storefronts.

Originally, the Northline Shopping Center was one of Houston's first shopping malls. It became one of the first malls in the 1980s to promote a walking club.
